Mister Malthe

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year

1.st Class Prince Abert
Sire: Mister Malthe

December
A year is at its end and a new is going to start. We have had a wonderful year with lots of great experiences both with the ponies and with our new and old friends. Some of our off springs has gone the hole way to the top in elections, some has done it so well at the competions, they have given their owner and us a lot of plesure and pride. We have recived a lot of mails, pictures and hellos from happy owners. It is so nice to follow our ponies and keep in touch with the new owners.

Aglaia is now in Australia with her new family. She left the cold and wet Denmark and is now in the warm and sunny Tasmania with green grass and a wonderful family. We hope we sometime in the future will be able to take the trip around the world and visit her and her new family, as we have done with Zephyr in USA and Kalliope, Arion and Salem in Belgium.

1st Class Prince Albert - a son of Mister Malthe has just been to an international show jumping competition in Holland. It was his rider last competition as a pony rider since she is now to old. She has bought a 5 years old stallion born i Belgium and we wish her all the luck she can get in the future. Prince Albert is now for sale, so if anybody want a very good show jumper, 147cm, stallion (not approved), 8 years old with Valention as a grandsire, you can mail us and we will set you in contact with his owner.

We hope you all have had a wonderful year and hope you will have a Happy 2009.

November
Aglaia Hippios (sire Offem Minos - dam Asteria Hippios - grand sire Mister Malthe) is now on her way to her new home in Australia. We very much hope her new owner will be as pleased with her as we has been. A more sweet and easy going pony is very hard to find.

The firs snow has come. Unfortuneally it is already gone again. But while it was here the ponies had a great time playing in the white world.

Riddersholm Salem

October
The stallion election in Belgium took place the 19th of October. We decided to drive to Belgium to see the election. It was specially interesting for us since both Riddersholm Salem (sire Sirius Hippios) and Arion Hippios (sire Mister Malthe) whom we both have sold to Belgium parcipitated in the election.

Salem was showned for the judges, took the event test and took the jumping test. Arion, who still only is 2½ years old, was shown for the first time. Arion was number one in the ring. He looked very well and we were proud of him the hole day. Specially in the jumping and canter part of the election, where he jumped really well and showed his excellent canter.

In the end the judges only took Arion of all the 2½ years old stallion and that was for us very fantastic. They also took one 3½ years old the very nice Sulaaktik´s Classic Marmelade (sire Wayland Cranberry).

Salem also did his part very well. He has an excellent jumping capacity and we can´t wait to see him in the competitions.

Salem was selected as Overall Champion and that was a perfect end on a very exciting day for us. BIS res. was the beautiful Polsbury Pessoa (sire Sörbys Lotus).

Pictures from the election will come very soon at www.quality-pictures.com

Mistra

The first weekend in October Sirius and I parcipitated in a jumping course with Søren Knudsen, one of the best showjumpers in Denmark. Sirius jumped very well and got a very fine evaluation from Søren. "Very high capacity and very well in dressage", I was very proud of him.

We got some very nice news from Belgium and Sweden. In Belgium two offsprings of Salem (sire Sirius) were seleted as best colt and filly at the annual foal presentation. The filly "Luminahof`s Fiona" was selected as Champion foal.

In Sweden "Mistra" sire Malthe, got the hole way to the final in the Championship for young ponies in dressage. The final round was devided into two section and Mistra won the first with 73.2%. In the second round she was a bit tired, but still got 66%. She became nr.4 overall.

Zephyr in USA

August and September
The summer has gone and the wintertime is coming closer. In August we went to visit my parents who live in USA. In USA we took the time and visited Zephyr in Virginia. We did not meet his new owner Courtney, since she went to the hospital the same day and gave labour to a baby girl :o) We were very pleased to see Zephyr, he looked so fine and he really likes to live in USA.

Returning back from Holiday I went to Dublin and Zürich on congress and finally back in Denmark, I started riding Sirius again. I simply love to ride him. He has the best temper, love to work, is lite like a cat and moves like a horse - what more can one ask for?

We have now found a new rider for Minos and a part time rider for Sirius. Anne Sofie is the new rider of Minos and she will train him in dressage and hopefully they will start compeeting in the begining of next year. Emma is the new rider of Sirius. She rides him 3-4 times a week, since I still want to ride him a couple of days a week. Emma has 4½ years back in pony competions. We really looking forward to se both Minos and Anne Sofie and Emma and Sirius in the future.

Blåbærhegnets Q-libri

Robin back at the field

July
A busy covering season is almost at its end. We have had some very fine mares both New Forest, Danis Sportsponies, Pinto (pieblad / skewbald) and also a Danish Knabstrup (leopard spotted). All but a singel mare has been scanned pregnant after the first covering, so we are very pleased about that. Now we can only wait until next spring for the results of the stallions work :o)

At the Danish NF mare election which took part in Jutland. We showed our French mare Robin de L `Eguille sire Priory Firelight II. She were mesured 146cm and became in 2.class A. She has showned excellent jumping skills at the traning, but her movement is not very impressive. She is pregnant with Sirius Hippios and we hope the foal will gain Sirius movement (as he mostly give to his off springs) and will have the jumping skills from both Robin and Sirius.

Champion mare became Blåbærhegnets Q-libri. She was my absolut favorit. Her sire is Hamlet´s Merrick and her grandsire is Malibu II. We are very pleased about the result, not only was she the best, but she is the fullsister of Blåbærhegnets Q-usine, whom we sold to our friend in Belgium. He bought Q-usine without haven seen the foal only because I told she was a fine foal and now she is the fullsister of the best mare 2008 in Denmark :o) We have made a deal with the owner of Q-Libri to cover her with Minos next year and we having the foal.

You will find pictures from the election at www.quality-picture.com The site is in danish, but if you click at "NF hoppekåring 2008" (which means NF mare election 2008) in the left side you will find all the pictures devided into groups of age and hardground / loose in riding arena. You can also find picture of last year mare election as well as pictures from Roskilde horse and cattle show and some from different competions.

It has been very exciting to se one more season of off springs of Offem Minos. They are all great movers. Have pretty heads and really good necks and long legs. Just as we hoped for. We can not wait for them to grow up and se how they develop.

The 2th of August we start our vacation. This year we will go to USA. Here we will stay at my parents place. We have already planed to visit Zephyr Hippios and his new family in USA. We are really looking forward to that. We also planned to visit a couple of New Forest breeders.

We hope you all have a wonderfull summer with your friends, family and ponies. We will be back again in September with news about our trip and our ponies.

Sirius Hippios

June
At "Roskilde horse and cattle show" - the biggest horse and cattle show in Northern Europe both Mister Malthe and Sirius Hippios were showed. Sirius in the New Forest and Malthe in the Danish Sportspony section.

Sirius got the highest possible score: 24 point and mark of honour. He was the only New Forest who got 24 point. Malthe got 23 point and mark of hounor. Neither of the other Danish Sportsponies got more than 23 point.

In the riding movement competition for all breeds Sirius won and Malthe became 4th only 0,5point from number 3.

Both stallion participated in the big horse show. Danish Warmblood, New Forest and Danish sportspony had made a show together with the theme "Halloween"

Mister Malthe

May
At the international CSIO show jumping competion for horses the 15-18 of May in Denmark some of the very best show jumping ponies in Denmark were invited to jump a pony cup at 120 cm level. The only New Forest pony was 1st Class Prince Albert (sire Mister Malthe, grandsire Valentino) with his rider Ida Grønne Leth.

They proved they were worthy in the company and had a clear round. We are very proud of Ida and Albert and we are very much looking forward to follow them in the future.

Mister Malthe - Champion of the Day

April
Our last foal this year was born the 22th of April. I have just been out riding Sirius and when we came back to the stable, Asteria was in the middle of giving birth to her son "Argos Hippios". It took her les than 10 minutes and in less than half an hour he was on his feet, has been eating and was jumping around. He has the most beautiful colour - like shining copper. He moves like a dream, just as Typhon and Hermès and we are very happy about him.

Asteria is not going to be covered this year. She will be ridden for a couple of years before she again will be used as a broad mare. Natviol will be covered by Sirius Hippios and Za Za Zee with Mister Malthe. Our young French mare Robin has already been covered by Sirius Hippios.

At a big stallion show for the Danish Warmblood and Danish Sportspony Mister Malthe was selected as Champion of the Day. More than 30 stallion parcipitated in the show.

At a big eventing competion two sons of Malthe participated for the first time in eventing. 1st Class Prince Albert won the endurance / jumping in the field part and 1st Class Benjamin Rex won the dressage part. Both completed the showjumping part without any fault. Prince Albert and Benjamin Rex is full brothers and their grandsire is the famous Dutch stallion Valentino

March
Our two first foals has seen the daylight. Typhon Hippios, a bay stallion was born the 4th of March. His dam is Esk. Mørk Natviol and his sire is Offem Minos. Hermès Hippios, a chestnut stallion was born the 31th of March. His dam is Esk. Za Za Zee and his sire is also Offem Minos. We are very pleased with both our new boys. They moves really well and seem to have that type of ponies that we like the most.

Typhon is the god of manhood and Hermès is the messenger of the gods in the greek mythologi - where all the names of our ponies has been found so far.

Hermés only 4 days old

Soldals Pacific Ocean

March
At the Danish New Forest election Gay Count Shetan a son of Mister Malthe was elected as Overall Champion (Stallion of the Year 2008). Four 3-years old stallion passed. Soldals Pacific Ocean sire Sirius Hippios got the highest score at the election in jumping (9,5 in teknick and 9,5 in capactity). Another young stallion Soldals Atlas Atlantis sire Hamlet´s Merrick had Mister Malthe as grandsire.

Overall some very good weekends for our stallions.

The 7th of March our first foal this year was born. "Typhon Hippios" sire Offem Minos, dam: Eskehøjgaards Mørk Natviol. A bay stallion who already seems very promising. We look forward to follow him in the future. Pictures will come as soon as we have some.

January
The storm is blowing and the rain is falling in Denmark, but we can still see and feel the begining of the spring. Flower is pupping up and the mares is getting bigger.

This year we are expecting 3 foals. All out of Offem Minos. The first one is supposed to come in the start of March. It is Natviol who is the first mare, next is Za Za in the start of April and last is Asteria in the start of May. We are very much looking forward to se the foals.

While we are waiting for the foals we are training the stallions for the upcoming selections.
